Announcements Bowling All AreaFreshman Andrew Mullikin was named to the All Area Bowling Third Team. A very nice accomplishment for a Freshman. Senior Hunter Crawford recieved an All Area Honorable Mention. Congratulations to both Andrew and Hunter!
Girls Bowling Conference Champs 2012 State Gymnastics QualifiersDanielle Hoffman and Kelli Hoffman both had a great meet and are continuing on to the State meet this weekend at Kenowa HIlls after qualifiying on certain events. Kelli will be competing on bars Saturday, and Danielle will be competing All-Around but she qualified for beam and floor. Both girls had P.R. on their events which is always a great feeling. Danielle also scored the second best floor score of the entire meet, including Division 1 and Division 2 gymnasts and tied the school record. If you see these girls, be certain to tell them great job and also good luck this coming weekend!!!!
State ChampCongratulations to Ryan Carroll for Placing fourth in the State Wrestling Finals at the Palace over the weekend. Ryan had an outstanding three days of wrestling winning four times and losing twice. He finished his season with 51 wins and 5 losses. He also had a career record of 197 wins and 26 losses. Ryan broke school records in career wins and pins, and season wins and pins. Congratulations Ryan on an outstanding wrestling career at Western.
State WrestlersThe wrestling team is sending four individuals to the state finals at the Palace in two weeks. Ryan Carroll won the regionals at 112 pounds with a dominating performance, outscoring his opponents 16-2 and improving his record to 47-3. The only points he allowed were two escapes in the finals. Corey Kerstetter placed third at 152 pounds and moved his record to 37-9. Michael Cagney and Tanner Jewell were fourth at 130 and 135 pounds, respectively. Tanner is 38-9 and Michael is 44-9 this season. Congratulations guys and good luck at the State Finals.
Boys TennisIf you have any interest in playing boys high school tennis next fall, please plan on attending an infomational meeting with coach Blume at 3:15pm next Tuesday, February 21st in the High School Cafeteria. We will discuss our strength and conditioning program as well as important upcoming dates and times. This meeting is for any current 8th graders through juniors in high school.
District ChampsCongratulations to our District Champions!!
The wrestling team is moving on to regionals after sailing through the team district with a 48-22 win against Eaton Rapids in the semi final and 66-7 dismantling of Marshall in the final. Eaton Rapids was down by eight points going into the last four weight classes and the heart of Western's lineup. Michael Cagney, Tanner Jewell, Tyler Ebersole, and Blayne Kerstetter all won to seal the victory for the panthers. Double winners for Western were Brock Hoffman, Ryan Carroll, Michael Cagney, Tanner Jewell, Tyler Ebersole, Blayne and Corey Kerstetter, Trent Hullett, and Brady Hoffman!! The 2012 Little League Season is upon us and we hope to have a very successful season and build on the momentum from 2011. Family Passes(Good for Entire Year to all sporting events).
This covers two adults and two children residing in the SAME household - $165.00. Each additional person living in the household past the first four, will cost an additional $20.00 per person. Individuals must sign up with the Athletic Office.
Faculty Passes Punch Cards (Good for 20 Events) $10.00
The Athletic Department will be keeping record of all purchased Athletic Passes.
